Editorial Policy
RePORT Project content is guided by the needs expressed by in-hospital patients and is produced and reviewed by a team of Canadian physicians, nurses, lab technicians, and patient research partners.
Authors and reviewers of the RePORT Project content follow evidence-based practice guidelines, such as EBML (Evidence-Based Laboratory Medicine), Clinical Practice Guidelines, and Guiding Principles for Ethical Research.
Editorial process for health content published on the RePORT Project
Content is created and reviewed by a broad network of physicians, nurses, lab technicians, and patient research partners from across Canada.
When content is reviewed by our team of health professionals, it is screened to ensure that the information is medically accurate and:
-
relevant to the needs of patients
-
adheres to current evidence-based practices and relevant clinical guidelines.
-
Readability within the recommended range, typically aligning with an eighth-grade reading level.
Accessibility
Our commitment extends to ensure the accessibility of the RePORT Project website to all individuals. We adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to guarantee that our content remains accessible to those with visual impairments or other accessibility requirements. For example: our video content incorporates subtitles, content undergoes screening to meet a readability level equivalent to grades 6-8, and we deliberately select color schemes to enhance accessibility for individuals with color vision deficiencies.
